Independents Fiber Network (Independents) as a wholly owned subsidiary of Com Net Incorporated (CNI) is committed to developing relationships with a variety of Network Partners to deliver next generation IP services to public service organizations, residences and businesses throughout our regional coverage area.
In order to achieve this Independents Fiber Network establishes and manages these relationships in three distinct groupings
Integrated Network Partners (INP): This group of network partners provides for a seamless delivery system from Independents’ facilities direct to the Network Partners Community Point-of-Presence (PoP). The INP provides diverse, outside plant fiber-facilities from its Community PoP to mid-fiber meet-points with Independents as well as space and power at its PoP for Independents use in establishing a multi-gigabit/terabit capable node on its regional backhaul network. In addition the INP subscribes to a minimal NOC-as-a-Service package with CNI to allow for seamless troubleshooting of jointly provided services. Independents’ integrates the community node into its regional backhaul network through a minimum 2 degrees of protection. Independents’ provides the INP with a license for the right-to-use local ports on the deployed node to directly connect its lit fiber network and/or its dark fiber facilities directly to the local Gigabit Ethernet ports at the Community Node. Independents operates the integrated community Node inclusive of any INP local loop services used to connect a Customer within the community seamlessly as part of its regional backhaul network. Independents and the INP maintaining a reciprocal relationship for buying and selling services across each others networks for serving Customers within the community coverage area. This enables each party to be the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) in providing services to its Customer. Finally Independents’ parent company makes available CNI’s managed services, including but not limited to IPTV, Provider-Class Dedicated Internet Access, Voice Exchange, NoC-as-a-Service and Call-Center-as-a-Service for the INPs use at its discretion. The INP’s use of these managed services determines its overall level of integration with Independents. To find an Integrated Network Partner navigate to our interactive Regional Map or click here.
Connected Network Partners (CNP): This group of network partners utilize diverse, historical carrier-to-carrier point-of-interconnection with Independents complimented with CNI’s NoC-as-a-Service, at a minimum, to create a highly reliable intercarrier service offering. In this more historical carrier-to-carrier point-of-interconnection each party is responsible for maintaining its network and its services on its side of the network interface demarcation point. The CNP provides diverse, outside plant fiber-facilities from its carrier PoP to mid-fiber meet-points with Independents, or diverse fiber facilities to a common carrier neutral datacenter for establishing protected connectivity between Independents and CNP in a controlled environments. Independents and the CNP maintain a reciprocal relationship for buying and selling services across each other’s networks for serving Customers within each other’s coverage area. This enables each party to be the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) in providing services to its Customer. Finally Independents’ parent company makes available CNI’s managed services, including but not limited to IPTV, Provider-Class Dedicated Internet Access, Voice Exchange, NoC-as-a-Service and Call-Center-as-a-Service for the CNPs use at its discretion. The CNP’s use of these managed services determines its overall level of integration with Independents. To see a listing of our Connected Network Partners click here.
Diversely Interconnected Network Partners (DINP): This group of network partners utilizes diverse, historical carrier-to-carrier point-of-interconnection with Independents with each parties service commitment defined through Carrier Service Agreement (CSA). In this more historical carrier-to-carrier point-of-interconnection each party is responsible for maintaining its network and its service on its side of the network interface demarcation points. The DINP provides diverse, outside plant fiber-facilities from its carrier PoP to mid-fiber meet-points with Independents, or diverse fiber facilities to a common carrier neutral datacenter for establishing protected connectivity between Independents and DINP in a controlled environments. Independents and the DINP maintain a reciprocal relationship for buying and selling services across each other’s networks for serving Customers within each other’s coverage area. This enables each party to be the Single Point of Contact in providing services to its Customer. To find a Diversely Interconnected Network Partner click here.
